MISSION
We are people who care deeply about the education and well-being of the students of the High School of Art & Design. FAD Board members and supporters believe that it is every citizen's responsibility to do all she or he can do to help every young person achieve his or her potential, not only for the student's welfare, but for the welfare of our society. The “ART’s” is our core values:
Acceptance of Everyone — Truly appreciating and valuing the differences in everyone regardless of their religious/spiritual, ethnic/racial or social background, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or other characteristic.
Responsibility-there’s accountability for all and being responsible whether you’re an adult
or a young-adult is essential to growing.
Teens Are Our Future — Our undeniable belief that all teens hold the key to our future; helping them, supporting them and sharing their stories so they can make a positive impact in their families, communities and our world.
Stability-with all the kids will learn from our teachings, they can use the tools to help
them survive on their own and further their success.

Community Service: By doing community service, you get a greater sense of personal efficacy, personal identity, spiritual growth, and moral development. You Improve social responsibility and citizenship skills. It improves students’ ability to apply what they have learned in “the real world”, positive impact on academic outcomes such as demonstrated complexity of understanding, problem analysis, problem-solving, critical thinking, and cognitive development.
Financial Literacy Workshop: Understanding the importance of money management is important. As we look at our country's current personal debt statistics, it's apparent that we have to do something to help our young adults avoid making the same financial mistakes their parents did. More financial literacy courses for students, as well as teacher training, could help enhance financial education in this country. Learning to set financial goals to help young adults prepare for financial independence.
Character Building Workshops: Develop skills through professional coaching and mentoring FAD CHARACTER seminars can provide practical strategies and tools to braid FC strategies with other programs we can produce exceptional results in the academic, social, emotional and character development domains by infusing core values and performance values and traits into the DNA of your organization.
College Application Fees: For elligble students FAD provides the fees for college applications which can run $65.00 per CUNY application alone. This is a way for college ready students to be considered for admission vs eliminated due to lack of financial resources.
