FAD Student Spotlight: CARENA CARRINGTON & CLIFFANNIE FORRESTER
FAD applauds two extraordinary Art & Design students, Carena Carrington and Cliffannie Forrester. Carrington and Forrester have their artwork featured in The Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibition P.S. Art 2016: Celebrating the Creative Spirit of New York City Kids. If that wasn’t big enough, Carrington’s artwork Joshua, and Forrester’s Uganda, was also featured on huge outdoor digital screens for the exhibition in the heart of Times Square, courtesy of the Times Square Advertising Coalition (TSAC). You can view their work at the Met until October 23, 2016. See it!
Naturally, this is boastable news and Cliffannie Forrester’s tweet about her accomplishment went viral. Articles about Cliffannie's artwork were published on Huffington Post, Time Magazine, Elle.com and Fusion.net. Follow her on twitter @civilwarcliff.

America’s Top Architectural Critic, Paul Goldberger, Visits HSAD Students
In May 2016, an architecture competition was held at the HSAD to judge the senior-thesis projects of 6 architecture teams tasked with designing a realistic plan to convert the dilapidated Sunnyside yards into a vibrant living Sunnyside community.
Paul Goldberger, who was recently acclaimed by the Huffington Post as “the leading figure in architectural criticism,” was invited to be a “Special Guest Juror” by FAD members Tina Li Sheff and Don Sheff. Goldberger offered each architecture team insightful suggestions and, most important, inspiring words of approval and encouragement. To read more, please visit http://www.eastmidtown.org/architect. |
